Open-source first, not open-source only
We start with open tools because they usually win on ownership, flexibility, cost, and resilience. We switch when the evidence says so.
Share knowledge, don't create dependency
The goal is a team that no longer needs us, or that knows exactly why it wants us around.
Treat cost as an engineering concern
Cost decisions live with the engineers who make them, informed by real visibility, not in a finance silo.
